Today I wrote out a post, during that time I had to leave answer the phone. During the time I was gone, my session timed out. I went to post and lost every bit of my work.

Other sites have an Auto save features that keeps your work even though your time might have expired. It works by saving your work and allows to to log back in without dropping anything.

It would be a nice feature to add to this site. Not that it matters in the least but I spent a lot of time this morning typing out some information for another ham,
Every bit of that was gone because the session timed out before I could get back and I had no idea until I posted the information.

Sometimes things happen that call us away from the computer so it would be a nice feature to have just in case.

I don't think the forum component has that feature yet, I will put in a suggestion for it. In the meantime, I'll increase the session time to 60 minutes. Hopefully that will help.

Thank you! Yes, increasing the time to 60 minutes, that should help out immensely. Several days ago I was posting questions on another amateur radio site, got busy looking for some info, actually forgot about the post! I realized it oh about 5 hours later, went back, completed the post, logged back in and believe this or not it had saved the post, nothing was lost. That was pretty cool!
