Got 16 radials added to my home brewed vertical.
It tunes up good on 20 meters.
Scanned the band and found a weak signal.
Found IZ1NBX calling CQ
Put out my call and he came back.

I built a G5RV and got it up yesterday.
102 foot dipole with 31 feet of 450 ohm ladder line.
could someone recommend the balun to use with it?
there are ladder line to coax transitions too.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

I use a 160 meter dipole that's about 240 ft or so, It has 75 feet of 450 on it, it goes into 50 ohm 100 feet of coax straight into the tuner, as far as I know no balan is used in my system. You could just connect it to your tuner and use the balan inside your tuner maybe?

My antenna is down for now but I will put it up one day.

Congrats on your First HF contact, you will always remember it, I have to this day as my first DX contact was about the age of 10 years that was a Long time ago!

Clyde, I typed out some information that I have learned concerning antenna's I thought you might like to know. However, I had to go answer the phone and during that time my session timed out. So, every bit of the info was lost, which needless to say you can't imagine my dismay over that, I had spent about 30 minutes gathering up things to share with you. All I can say, is OH BROTHER!

If I can get some time later on I will try to re post it for you later on.

I just don't have it in me right now to try it again.

73 GOD BLESS!
